Our Heritage is Our Future

Grassroots Home for Horse Culture

This blog has been set up to inform & inspire. There are over 350 horses living in Knowle West, Hartcliffe & Withywood. Horses are deeply rooted within the culture of these three urban estates.

Our vision is to connect & empower the Horse Community, to enable & support them.

We are in a " Global, Environmental & Economic Downturn." It feels like the earth is screaming out for us to
" Slow Down." We must listen & we must change our way of living. In order to do this we must stop and look at the resources we have within our communities.

Grassroots Home for Horse Culture will aim to provide the links to establish the use
of horses to work the land again to provide us with a more sustainable, environmentally friendly way of life. We have already used horses to plough local allotments and we aim to continue to develop this " comeback. "

We have many horsedrawn vehicles within our communities and the vision is that over time we will be able to establish a service, by using horses for transport to deliver homegrown produce from local markets.

We are planning to transform two tennis courts & two basketball courts into an arena for all Equestrian Activities. We have a local club to encourage a network for the Horse Community. " Grassroots Urban Horse & Pony Club."
